Citibank Global Wallet. Your world in one wallet

With the feature turned on, shop on international websites using your Citi Debit Card and pay zero foreign transaction or currency conversion fees as long as you have sufficient balances in the currency you are spending in*. For example, when you buy something in US Dollars on Amazon US, your debit card will automatically take the funds from your US Dollar account, so that your transaction is fee-free.

You can also use FX Order Watch to target a favourable currency exchange rate and top-up your accounts automatically - giving you an even better deal at checkout.

* No fees will apply as long as you hold an account with sufficient balances in the transaction currency. If you don’t hold enough balances, Citibank Global Wallet is smart enough to debit funds from your primary account instead (fees may apply).

Citibank Global Wallet is a new feature linked to your Citi Debit Card which allows you to make purchases abroad in-store/online, and withdraw cash from overseas ATMs without incurring foreign exchange and card commission fees. You can link accounts in 10 currencies to this new feature and just need to make sure you hold sufficient balances in the currency you’re spending in, in order to avoid fees.
For example, with Citibank Global Wallet turned on, if you are travelling to Switzerland and have a Swiss Franc (CHF) account with us, any CHF purchase will be automatically debited from your CHF account without foreign exchange or card commission fees.

If you are an existing bank account holder, you can turn on Citibank Global Wallet by visiting Citi Mobile® UK App. Once it is turned on, your Citibank Global Wallet will be automatically linked to your currency accounts.

For example, if you are making a 100 USD retail transaction online, it will be debited directly from your Citibank USD account. If you had bought USD in advance at your preferred rate of 0.82 USD/GBP, your transaction would be locked down at this specific rate.

In addition to Pound Sterling (GBP), you can transact in 9 other currencies – Euro (EUR), United States Dollar (USD), Swiss Franc (CHF), Japanese Yen (JPY), Australian Dollar (AUD), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), Singapore Dollar (SGD)

You can link multiple currency accounts to your wallet. For example, you can link a GBP FCY Deposit account and a USD Current account. However, you can only link 1 account of the same currency to your wallet. For example, if you have both a USD FCY Deposit account and a USD Current account, you are only able to link one of the two accounts to your wallet. You will be able to select the account you wish to link through your Citi Mobile® UK App.

To continue using Citibank Global Wallet, simply top up your foreign currency account on Citi Mobile® App for instant funding.

Your daily transaction limit is set at £15,000 or equivalent in foreign currency at the prevailing exchange rate on the day of the transaction.

Although Citibank Global Wallet is designed to help you avoid foreign exchange and card commission fees, certain overseas non-Citi ATM withdrawals may still be subjected to administrative fees by third-parties (e.g. acquiring bank or associations that own the overseas ATM) at their sole discretion. Please ensure that you are always aware of these additional third-party charges.

Certain overseas banks may give you the option to select an account type for your cash withdrawal. It is usually a choice between a ‘Current/checking account’ or a ‘Savings account’.
