Sending Money

Citi Global Transfers allow you to send money instantly and fee free between Citi accounts in selected countries across the world by signing onto Citi Online or Citi Mobile^® UK.

• Clearance times: Immediate
• Fees: No transaction fee
• Destination: Citi accounts in a wide range of countries

You can Send Money using SWIFT to most countries in a range of currencies.

• Clearance times: 1–5 banking days, depending on currency and destination.
• Fees: 8 fee-free SWIFT payments per month for Citigold clients. After this, a fee for each additional transfer will be applied on the same day the transfer is made - just £15 if made with Citi Online or Citi Mobile^® UK and £25 if made in branch or with CitiPhone.
• Destination: Areas outside the Single European Payment Area (all offered currencies), or within the Single European Payment Area (currencies other than Pounds (GBP) or Euros).

Faster Payments can be set up quickly and easily via Citi Online and the Citi Mobile^® UK app so you can send money electronically between accounts in the UK. Suitable for transactions up to £250,000.

• Clearance times: No later than the end of the next banking day, on most occasions’ funds will be credited in a matter of hours
• Fees: No transaction fee
• Destination: Within the UK (Pounds (GBP))

Send money electronically within the UK on the same day with CHAPS transfers. Suitable for larger transactions. Please note this is not available with Citi Online or Citi Mobile^® UK.

• Clearance times: Same banking day
• Fees: No transaction fee
• Destination: Within the UK (Pounds (GBP))

• Paying in: Cheques can be deposited at the Citigold Lounge or cash machine (cheques deposited after 3.30pm will be processed on the next banking day). You can also deposit with us through any Lloyds branch in the UK using a Bank Giro Credit pay-in slip found in a Pounds (GBP) Pay-in book.
• By post: Cheques should be sent with a Bank Giro Credit Slip to:

• Clearing times: If the cheque is in Pounds (GBP), the amount will show in your account after four banking days and the money will be fully cleared after seven banking days. Interest is paid from the day the cheque is received.
• Foreign currency: Foreign currency cheques can be deposited into your account free of charge. They are subject to variable clearance times.
