Citibank UK Limited ("Citi") e-mail and text message banking alerts service ("Citi Alerts") enables you to receive notices from time to time concerning Available Balance information and other updates relating to your Citi Account(s). The Citi Alerts Terms and Conditions below incorporate the Citi Account General Terms and Conditions. By signing up to receive one or more of the notices that are offered by Citi Alerts, you acknowledge that you are aware of and agree to abide by the following Citi Alerts Terms and Conditions:
1. Citi Alerts Subscription
1.1. Citi Alerts allows you to request and receive either (or both) text messages (SMS) and electronic mail messages (e-mail), (collectively or separately "Banking Alerts"), about your Account(s) with Citi. Citi will send Banking Alerts to you based upon the package of Banking Alerts you subscribe to receive ("Alerts Package"). Details of the Banking Alerts that are included in the respective Alerts Packages available can be found at:

1.2. Your instructions are neither reviewed nor verified by Citi prior to or following activation of Citi Alerts.
1.3. You hereby acknowledge and accept that each Banking Alert is sent to you without being encrypted and may include your name and information pertaining to your Citi Account(s). You must ensure that no-one has access to the confidential information that you receive via Citi Alerts and you must take all reasonable precautions to prevent any other party being able to gain access.
1.4. It is not possible for you to send text messages to us for the purpose of servicing your Account(s).
1.5. We may make alterations to the service available under any Alerts Package at any time and will notify you of any material changes.
1.6. Alerts Packages may be subject to a charge as advised by Citi from time to time. Thirty (30) daysnotice will be provided of any variation to any charge applicable for Citi Alerts. You remain able to terminate Citi Alerts or vary your Alerts Package without charge, and with immediate effect, at any point until a charge is incurred.
2. Receiving Citi Alerts
2.1. You may receive Banking Alerts through a text-enabled digital mobile telephone, an e-mail account that is accessed via a personal computer, or both.
2.2. It is your responsibility to determine if your mobile telephone network provider supports text messaging and your telephone is capable of receiving text messages.
2.3. Citi Alerts are subject to the terms and conditions of your agreement(s) with your mobile telephone network provider and/or internet service provider. You are responsible for any fees imposed by your mobile telephone service and internet service provider of any kind whatsoever.
2.4. You can cancel Citi Alerts or change your Alerts Package by calling CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 FREE (if calling from abroad dial +44 20 7500 55 00), or by signing in to Citi Online.
2.5. You can change the mobile telephone number or e-mail address to which you wish to receive your Banking Alerts, by calling Us on 0800 00 55 00 FREE. You can also change the e-mail address to which you wish to receive your Banking Alerts by signing in to Citi Online.
2.6. You must tell us as soon as possible by calling CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 FREE, if any of your Banking Alerts appear to be irregular.
2.7. We will only send you a Banking Alert once, if you delete a Banking Alert which we have sent to you, it cannot be sent again.
2.8. Each text message Banking Alert We send to you will contain a maximum of 160 characters.
2.9. Once subscribed to the Citi Alerts, you will automatically receive a Banking Alert on the occurrence of any one of the events outlined in your Alerts Package, for example when your Account goes overdrawn
2.10. If you have more than one mobile telephone number registered with Citi, your Banking Alerts will only be sent to the mobile telephone number you have nominated as your primary number. We will only send messages to one mobile telephone number per customer. You can view the mobile telephone number that is nominated as your primary number by signing in to Citi Online.
2.11. If you have more than one e-mail address registered with Citi, your Banking Alerts will only be sent to the e-mail address you have nominated as your primary address. We will only send messages to one email address per customer. You can view the email address that is nominated as your primary address by logging in to Citi Online.
2.12. If a Joint Account is held, each Joint Account Holder can elect to receive Banking Alerts to the mobile telephone number or e-mail address they have registered. Each Joint Account Holder may also select the Alerts Package that they wish to subscribe to.
2.13. You acknowledge and agree that your receipt of any Banking Alerts may be delayed or prevented by factor(s) affecting your mobile telephone network provider, internet service provider(s) and other factors outside our control, for example if your mobile telephone is switched off or you do not have network coverage.
2.14. You further acknowledge and agree that your receipt of any Banking Alerts may be delayed or prevented by factors outside the control of Citi, or by operation of law.
2.15. We neither guarantee the delivery nor the accuracy of the contents of each Banking Alert.
2.16. Banking Alerts are accurate when they are generated on our systems however the funds available in your accounts may change before and after you receive them.
3. Liability
3.1. You agree not to hold Citi, its directors, officers, employees and agents liable for losses or damages, including legal fees, that may arise, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from: (a) a non-delivery, delayed delivery, or the misdirected delivery of a Banking Alert; (b) inaccurate or incomplete content in a Banking Alert; or (c) your reliance on or use of the information for any purpose other than if we act negligently, fraudulently or with wilful default.
4. Variation
4.1. We reserve the right to vary these Citi Alerts Terms and Conditions at any time and we will give you thirty (30) days notice of such changes being made.
4.2. If we are required to make changes that result from a regulatory requirement, or from changes to applicable law, codes of practice or the way in which we are regulated, and we are unable to give you thirty (30) days notice of the changes, we will provide you with personal notice in advance of the change as early as possible.
4.3. When we tell you about a change we will tell you the date it comes into effect. As long as notice of a change is given to you at the most recent correspondence details we have for you, You will be treated as accepting the change on that date unless, before then, you tell us that you want to terminate your Citi Alerts and not accept the change.
5. Termination and Suspension
5.1. You may end or suspend text message Banking Alerts with immediate effect electronically by using Citi Online or by calling CitiPhone on 0800 00 55 00 FREE.
5.2. For your own security, we may suspend text message Banking Alerts with immediate effect and without prior notice to you if we have reason to suspect that you are not receiving the text messages being sent to your mobile telephone or that someone else is receiving the text messages. It will be your responsibility to notify us if your mobile telephone is lost or stolen. Upon such notification, your text message Banking Alerts will be suspended until you inform us of your telephone's return or you provide a replacement number. Your e-mail messages will continue as normal.
5.3. If you terminate or suspend Citi Alerts, we may continue to send you Banking Alerts which are required to protect the security of your account or to combat fraud as provided for in our Citi Account General Terms and Conditions.
5.4. Citi provides this service as a convenience to you for information purposes only. A Banking Alert does not constitute a bank record for the Account to which it pertains. Citi reserves the right to terminate its Citi Alerts at any time without prior notice to you. Nothing contained herein shall amend, supersede or nullify anything contained in any other agreement you have made with Citi.
6. If You take Your mobile telephone abroad
6.1. Text message Banking Alerts might be transmitted to your mobile telephone via foreign telephone networks which do not guarantee a high level of security. Because of this, we recommend that you suspend Banking Alerts to your mobile telephone for the duration of your time outside the United Kingdom.
6.2. If you do take your mobile telephone outside the United Kingdom without suspending Citi Alerts, as recommended by Citi, you expressly consent for us, the network operator and any third party to whom information about you and your Account(s) has been passed for the provision of Citi Alerts, to transmit and store such information in countries or territories as necessary in order to send text messages to your mobile telephone.
6.3. Citi Alerts are intended to be received in the United Kingdom. In some countries it may be in contravention of the laws of that jurisdiction to receive Citi Alerts. You are responsible for ensuring that when you take your mobile telephone abroad you suspend your Citi Alerts if this is necessary to comply with laws of the jurisdiction you are travelling in.
6.4. If you do not suspend Citi Alerts when outside of the United Kingdom, you will be responsible for any charges you incur for receiving Banking Alerts whilst travelling abroad.
7. Data Protection
7.1. Citibank UK Limited is a member of the Citigroup Group of Companies and is the Data Controller. We will use your information to administer your Account(s) and for other business purposes, including the following; make any inquiries that we consider necessary to confirm your identity, operating your Account(s), or making credit decisions.
7.2. We will monitor and/or record telephone calls from and to you in the interests of customer service and for training purposes. This may be done either by ourselves, or reputable organisations carefully selected by us to ensure consistent servicing levels and account operations.
7.3. We will hold and process any information you provide us in relation to Citi Alerts in accordance with the standards and conditions set out in Clause 31 of your Citi Account General Terms and Conditions (How we use your personal information and who we share it with).
8. Other Information
8.1. Citibank UK Limited is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. Our firm reference number is 122342.
8.2. All communication such as terms and conditions, statements, telephone conversations, e-mail etc will be provided in English.
8.3. If you contact us with a complaint, We will do our best to resolve the matter as quickly as possible, in accordance with our internal complaints procedures. We are covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service, which is available to settle certain complaints you make if they cannot be settled through our internal complaints procedures.
9. Jurisdiction
9.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
